NRLP Celebrates Lineworker Appreciation Days on April 10 and April 18

Lineworkers are an essential part of the electric power industry. We celebrate North Carolina Lineworker Appreciation Day on April 10 and National Lineworker Appreciation Day on April 18. These days are dedicated to recognizing and honoring the men and women who work tirelessly to ensure that we have safe and reliable electrical service.

Acknowledging the people behind the power.

Lineworkers are the ones who install, maintain and repair the electrical infrastructure that powers our homes, businesses and communities. They work in all types of weather conditions — from scorching heat to bitter cold — to keep our lights on and keep us connected.

At New River Light and Power, we are proud of our linemen and the crucial role they play in our community. They are not just skilled workers; they are also dedicated public servants who are always ready to respond and ensure that our customers receive the power they need. They are neighbors, friends and family members.

These professionals are highly trained and skilled, and they work in dangerous conditions, often high above the ground, to keep our power lines functioning. Their work requires precision, attention to detail and a commitment to safety that is unmatched.

We want to thank our lineworkers for their hard work, dedication and sacrifice. We also want to recognize the sacrifices made by their families, who often have to share their loved ones with the demands of the job.

NRLP is grateful for our lineworkers’ service and commitment, and we will continue to support them as they work to keep the lights on and power flowing to our customers. Thank you to all the lineworkers out there for all that you do!

These Lines—North Carolina public power

North Carolina public power provides electricity to over 1.2 million customers daily. The lines that stretch above and below the state’s communities represent the hard work of generations of lineworkers. This video provides a glimpse into their lives.
