NRLP Mobile App Privacy Policy
This mobile application has been prepared solely for the purpose of providing information to the members of New River Light and Power (“the Utility”).
By utilizing this application you expressly agree to the terms included herein. This mobile application has been compiled in good faith by the Utility. The Utility strives to ensure that the information contained in this mobile application is complete, accurate and reliable. However, errors may sometimes occur or information may have become outdated. Therefore, the Utility disclaims any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, as to any matters whatsoever relating to this mobile application. The Utility also expressly disclaims any obligation to correct or update information posted on this mobile application. The Utility may from time to time revise the information, services, and/or resources contained in this mobile application. The Utility reserves the right to make such changes without any obligation to notify past, current or prospective users.
In no event shall the Utility be liable for any direct, indirect, general, special, incidental or consequential damages arising out of any use of the information contained herein. By utilizing this application you expressly agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Utility, Appalachian State University, the University of North Carolina and their respective officers, trustees, employees, agents, and representatives from any claims, demands, liabilities, expense and costs, including attorney’s fees and court costs, or causes of action based upon or arising out of any injury related to the use of this mobile application. The Utility makes no representations about the opinions of any third party identified on its mobile application. The Utility neither regularly monitors nor has any control over the content of third parties’ statements, web sites or mobile applications. The Utility does not endorse or accept any responsibility for the content or use of such firms’ Web sites or mobile applications.
The Utility respects your privacy and is committed to protecting you. We may, at times, collect personally sensitive information when you visit this mobile application. However, the Utility does not sell or share your personally identifiable information with external parties, unless bound to do so by the Service Rules & Regulations. When payments are made utilizing this mobile application, your personal payment data is encrypted during transmission. If you experience an issue with a credit card payment, please contact us immediately. Refunds of payments will be handled on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on the individual situation. The Utility in no way guarantees refund of payments. All matters relating to your access or use, including all disputes, will be governed by the United States and by the laws of the State of North Carolina without regard to its conflict of laws.

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of SMS messaging services provided by New River Light and Power (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By opting into our SMS program, you agree to receive SMS messages from New River Light and Power, in accordance with these Terms and The Campaign Registry (TCR) compliance standards.
Consent and Opt-In Requirements
- By being an active customer of New River Light and Power, any phone numbers you provide for your account will automatically be opted into the SMS service.
- By opting in, you provide express consent to receive SMS messages from us regarding your account services.
- Opting into the SMS program is voluntary and separate from any other service we provide.

- Once you send the “STOP” request, you will receive one final confirmation message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. No further messages will be sent unless you opt back in.

- New River Light and Power reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be communicated to you via SMS or posted on our website at https://nrlp.appstate.edu.
- Your continued participation in our SMS program following any updates to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
