Energy Audits
As your local public power utility, NRLP wants to help you save energy and money.
NRLP offers energy audits to help customers better understand their energy use, improve efficiency, and identify opportunities to save energy and money. In-person energy audits are available for both residential and commercial customers, while virtual energy audits are available for residential customers. Energy audits are provided in partnership with ElectriCities of North Carolina.
In-Person Energy Audits
Our in-person energy audits provide a comprehensive evaluation of your home’s or business’s energy performance. During the audit, a certified energy advisor will assess areas such as:
- Insulation levels
- Air leaks and infiltration points
- Appliances, including water heaters, space heaters, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, and thermostats
- Heating and cooling systems
- Air filters
- Attic pull-down stairs (if applicable)
- Other potential energy efficiency, health, or safety concerns
Customers who participate in an in-person audit will receive a complimentary energy-saving kit from NRLP.
Rental Properties: Renters are welcome to participate but must obtain written permission from the landlord or property owner before scheduling an audit.
